John J. Langello, 83, Warren

John J. Langello Jr., 83, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 at home. He was the husband of Joyce W. (Clarke) Langello.
Born in Warren, a son of the late John J. and Adeline (Boeniger) Langello Sr., he was a boiler operator for the Converse Co./P.F. Industries for more than 30 years before he retired.
Mr. Langello was a United States Army veteran, serving in the First Infantry Regiment during the Korean War, and later joined the National Guard. He served for a total of more than 20 years and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
A Warren resident his whole life, he was a member of the VFW, a life member of the Portuguese American Club, and an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family at family get-togethers. He also loved animals, especially his cat Peter.
Besides his wife, he leaves his children, John T. and Kristine Langello of Portsmouth, Kevin Langello of Warren, Kimberly Langello and Tom Nerney of Lincoln, Lori Mansi and Steve of Swansea, Kristen Pimental and John of Bristol, and Pamela Blackmar and Len of Riverside; and a sister, Arlene Benevides of Bristol. He was also the grandfather of eight, the great-grandfather of two, and was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Felix Langello.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3.
