John “Hess” Cabral, 85, of Thompson Avenue, passed away on October 26 at Silver Creek Manor.
He was the husband of Eleanor (Morris) Cabral.
Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Manuel Caetano and Evarista Moniz (Furtado) Cabral. He is survived by his children John R. Cabral and his wife Dottie, Jeannette Cabral and her husband Mike and Jennifer Cabral; grandchildren Cara Dylan Sousa, Madeline Toste, John David Cabral, Meghan Carotenuti, Sean Loras, Tim Lima, Catherine Cabral, Thomas Cabral, Justin Motta and great grandchildren Emma Sousa, Samuel souse, Logan Toste, Vincent Carotenuti, Lean Carotenuti, Michael Loras, Jasmine Loras, Mikayla Loras and Abigail Cabral. He was the father of the late Diane Motta and brother of the late Joseph, David, Manuel, William, Steve and Edward Cabral, Isabel Silva and Lillian Thom.
Mr. Cabral was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School and was a meat cutter for Cabral’s Meat & Provisions for 61 years.
His funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours are Thursday 4 – 7 PM.
